This phase occurs when the body experiences rapid growth and hormonal changes that affect various aspects of a teenager's life. Physical development includes growth of reproductive organs, secondary development, and increases in physical capacity. Apart from that, teenagers also experience emotional developments such as emotional turmoil and the search for self-identity. Adolescent social development involves identity exploration, interaction with peers, and adjustment to social norms. Cognitive development also develops with increasingly mature abstract and analytical thinking abilities. The method in this research uses qualitative methods. Qualitative methods are research approaches that aim to understand human phenomena in an in-depth and descriptive way, this involves collecting data and figures, such as text, images, sounds, or videos, and analyzing them to identify patterns, themes, and meaning. The results of this research found that students of the Islamic Counseling and Guidance Study Program at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training have their own ways and strategies for completing course assignments, even though overall they have not been able to complete assignments on time or often postpone them. This research is expected to have a positive impact on students majoring in Guidance. One of them is the lack of innovation from teachers in delivering social studies learning materials. When social studies learning takes place, the teacher only uses the lecture method which is less effective. This makes some students feel bored and sleepy. Therefore, teachers need to make some efforts to make learning better. The purpose of this research is (1) the effectiveness of the application of the question and answer method to increase student activeness in social studies learning class VIII at SMPN 2 Ngantru Tulungagung school year 2023/2024 (2) the effectiveness of the application of the question and answer method to increase student learning outcomes in social studies learning class VIII at SMPN 2 Ngantru school year 2023/2024 (3) the relationship between the application of the question and answer method with student activeness and student learning outcomes in social studies learning class VIII at SMPN 2 Ngantru school year 2023/2024. This research uses a quantitative approach. The study involved a control class and an experimental class. Based on the results of the questionnaire control class and experimental class greater than 0.05 (0.077 &gt; 0.05 and 0.169 &gt; 0.05).
